Passwords, Hashes and Keys: Where to Start
For accounts, start with the Password Generator. Then test any password you already use in the Password Strength Checker. The checker runs in your browser and gives an entropy score and a rough crack-time estimate. Length helps most. A random 16-character password is far harder to guess than a clever 8-character one.
For developers, the Basic Auth Generator builds an Authorization header from a username and password. It is only Base64 encoding, not encryption, so send it over HTTPS. The OTP Code Generator and Validator creates and checks time-based codes (TOTP) like those in Google Authenticator. That is useful when you test a two-factor login.
Two tools here look outward. The SSL Certificate Checker shows who issued a site certificate and how many days remain before it expires. It has to connect to that site, so this check runs on our server rather than in your browser. The IP Address Info tool shows the public IP address and rough location that websites see when you visit.
