  1. Create a new deck by giving it a name.
  2. Add cards to the deck by entering a front side (question or term) and back side (answer or definition).
  3. Start studying in order or shuffled to view cards one at a time, clicking to flip between front and back.
  4. Mark each card Know It or Don't Know, then check your score at the end of the round to see how many cards need review.
  5. Export your deck as a JSON file to share with classmates, or import a deck someone else created.

Studying with Digital Flashcards

Flashcards put a question or term on the front and the answer on the back, so you have to recall it before you look. This flashcard maker lets you build decks, study them card by card and track which ones you know. Everything is saved in your browser, with no sign-up.

Create a deck, give it a name, and add cards with a front and a back. Tap Study to go through the deck in order, or Shuffle to mix it up so you do not learn the answers by position. Tap a card to flip it. Then mark it Know It or Don't Know. At the end you see a score, such as 2 out of 3 (67%), with the number of cards known and needing review.

Recall is the key. Trying to bring an answer to mind, then checking it, helps you remember far better than reading notes again. Keep each card small, with one fact per card. Say the answer out loud or write it down before you flip, so you cannot fool yourself. Study the cards you missed again the next day, and space your review sessions out over time.

Decks live in your browser's local storage on this device. Clearing site data will delete them, so export decks you care about. Export saves a deck as a JSON file, which you can back up or share with classmates. Import loads a deck from a JSON file. To study words with a timer, pair this with the Pomodoro Timer.

Tap Export on the deck to download it as a JSON file, then send the file to a friend. They tap Import JSON and pick the file. The deck appears with all its cards. The file needs a name and a list of cards, each with a front and a back.
A set of 20 to 30 cards is easy to manage in one session. Put the ones you marked Don't Know into your next session, and review known cards again after a few days. Short, frequent sessions tend to work better than one long cram before a test.
Not in place. Tap Edit on a deck to open its card list, where you can add new cards and delete old ones. To fix a typo, delete the card and add a corrected one. You can also delete a whole deck. Deleting cannot be undone, so export first if you might want the deck back.
