Converting Clothing Sizes Between Countries
Clothing sizes use different numbers in each region. In this converter's chart, a women's US 8 top is a UK 12, an EU 38 and an Asian (Japanese) 13, all a size Medium. Pick tops or bottoms, men or women, then the system you know and your size.
For women's tops, the pattern is simple. UK sizes are 4 above US sizes, and EU sizes are 30 above, so US 8 becomes UK 12 and EU 38. Men's tops use letter sizes with chest sizes in inches, such as M (38-40), and EU numbers from 44 to 58. Asian sizes often run about one letter smaller, so a US M matches a JP L in this chart.
Bottoms add waist sizes. Men's trousers in the US and UK are sold by waist in inches, such as 32, which matches EU 48 and about 81 cm in Asian sizing. Women's bottoms show the US size with a waist size in inches, such as 8 (28"), next to the UK and EU numbers and the waist in centimeters.
