Days Until and Countdown Calculator

This countdown shows how many days are left until a date, plus a live timer in days, hours, minutes and seconds. From September 25 to December 25, 2026 is 91 calendar days. Pick any date and the numbers update every second.

There are two figures, and they answer slightly different questions. Calendar days until is a plain date count. It ignores the time of day, which is what most people mean by "how many days until Christmas". The live timer counts down to midnight at the start of the target date, in your own time zone. So on the afternoon of September 25, the timer shows 90 days and some hours, while the calendar count says 91. The timer uses real elapsed time. If a daylight saving change falls in between, the hour count shifts by one to match. That is why a countdown in the fall can seem to have an extra hour.
