A 90 or 270 degree turn swaps width and height. The flip is applied to the rotated picture, exactly as shown in the preview.

Rotating and Mirroring Images

This tool rotates an image by 90 or 180 degrees and flips it horizontally or vertically. Click the buttons, check the preview, and download the result as PNG, JPEG or WebP.

Rotating turns the whole picture around its center. Flipping makes a mirror image: Flip Horizontal swaps left and right, and Flip Vertical swaps top and bottom. You can stack as many steps as you like, for example 90 degrees clockwise and then a horizontal flip. Each flip mirrors the image as it currently looks on screen, so the preview always matches what you get. Reset takes you back to the original.

Common jobs are fixing a sideways phone photo, turning a scanned page upright, and mirroring a selfie so the text on a shirt reads the right way. A 90 degree turn swaps width and height, so a 4000 x 3000 photo becomes 3000 x 4000.

Only quarter turns are offered. Other angles, such as 45 degrees, would leave empty corners and need a full image editor. The pixels are moved, not redrawn at a new size, so PNG output is lossless. JPEG and WebP are saved at 92% quality. JPEG output fills any transparent areas with white. The rotation is baked into the pixels and metadata is not copied, so the image shows the same way in every app. Images up to 20 MB are processed in your browser.

Phones often save photos in one orientation and add an EXIF tag saying how to turn them. Apps that read the tag show the photo upright, while others ignore it. Rotating here bakes the turn into the pixels and saves a file without that tag, so it looks the same everywhere.
