Current Local Time in Cities Worldwide

The world clock shows the current local time in several cities at once, updating every second. It starts with New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney. Each card shows the time with seconds, the date, the UTC offset, and a small dot that tells you whether it is day or night there.

Search for a city or time zone name, such as "Paris" or "Asia/Kolkata", and tap a result to add a clock. The list covers more than 100 major cities, plus every other IANA time zone your browser supports. Tap the x on a card to remove it.

Offsets update on their own when a place switches to or from daylight saving time. That matters because the gaps between cities are not fixed. In January, New York is 16 hours behind Sydney. In July the gap is 14 hours, because New York is on summer time while Sydney is on winter time. Southern Hemisphere cities shift clocks in the opposite season to the north. The day or night dot uses a simple rule: day from 6 AM to 6 PM local time. It is a quick way to see whether a friend is likely awake before you call. Yes. Each clock uses the time zone rules built into your browser, so the time and UTC offset change on the right date. London shows UTC+00:00 in winter and UTC+01:00 in summer, for example. Places without daylight saving, such as Tokyo, keep the same offset all year.
It shows day or night at that place. It uses a simple rule: day from 6:00 AM to 5:59 PM local time and night otherwise. It does not use real sunrise times, which vary by season and latitude. So think of it as a rough "likely awake" signal.
