Auto Grid picks 2 columns for 3 or 4 images. Each cell is (1200 - 8) / 2 = 596 px, and every photo is scaled and cropped to fill its cell.

Height is computed from each layout shape, rounded to whole pixels.

  1. Upload up to nine images to include in your photo collage.

  3. Images fill the cells in upload order - remove an image with its X button and add it again to move it later in the grid.
  4. Adjust the spacing between images, set a background color for the gaps, and choose the output width.
  5. Click Create Collage to preview the result, then download it as a single PNG image.

Making a Photo Grid Collage

The Photo Collage Maker puts 2 to 9 photos together in one grid image. Add your photos, choose a layout, set the spacing and background, and click Create Collage to get a single PNG.

Collages work well for before-and-after comparisons, event recaps, product sets and family photo roundups. Photos fill the cells in the order you added them. To move one later in the grid, remove it and add it again. Each photo is scaled and center-cropped to fill its cell, so nothing is stretched. The edges of a photo may be trimmed, though, so keep the main subject near the middle.

Auto Grid adapts to the number of photos: 2 sit side by side, 3 or 4 make a 2 x 2 grid, 5 or 6 make three columns and two rows, and 7 to 9 make a 3 x 3 grid. Fixed layouts include 2 side by side, 2 stacked, 2x2, 3x3, and one large photo with two or three smaller ones. Each layout sets the shape of the finished image. The table below shows the size at the default width.

The gap between photos runs from 0 to 30 pixels (8 by default), and its color is set by the background color, white by default. The output width can be 200 to 4,096 pixels, and the height follows from the layout. Each photo can be up to 20 MB. Everything is drawn in your browser, and the photos are not uploaded.

To frame photos before adding them, use the Image Cropper. To sign the finished collage, add your name with Image Watermark.

Between 2 and 9, each up to 20 MB. Auto Grid uses every photo you add. Fixed layouts have a set number of cells: 2 for side by side and stacked, 3 for one large plus two small, 4 for 2x2 and for one large plus three small, and 9 for 3x3. Extra photos do not appear.
Each photo is scaled to cover its whole cell and then cropped from the center, so photos with a different shape from the cell lose some edges. This keeps the grid neat with no empty space. Crop your photos first so the subject sits in the middle, or pick a layout whose cells match their shape.
Photos fill the cells in the order you add them, left to right and top to bottom. To move a photo later, remove it with its X button and add it again, which puts it at the end. Adding the photos in the order you want from the start is the quickest way.
The width is whatever you set, from 200 to 4,096 pixels (1,200 by default). The height follows from the layout: 2 side by side at 1,200 wide gives 1200 x 600, 2x2 gives 1200 x 1200, and 2 stacked gives 1200 x 2400. The collage downloads as a PNG.
