PDF Add Text

PDF Add Text writes your own text onto a PDF page, wherever you click. Use it to fill in a form that has no fillable fields, stamp a date, add a short note, or label a drawing.

You see a preview of the current page. Click the spot where the text should go and a marker shows the position. For exact placement, adjust the X and Y boxes. They are measured in PDF points from the bottom-left corner of the page, and one point is 1/72 of an inch. A US Letter page is 612 points wide and 792 points tall. The click sets where the text starts, on the line the letters sit on.

Each text block has its own font, size and color. You can pick Helvetica, Times Roman or Courier, a size from 8 to 72 points, and one of six colors: black, red, blue, green, orange or gray. Add as many blocks as you need, on one page or several, then generate the finished PDF.

The text becomes part of the page, not a sticky-note comment. It shows the same in every viewer, prints normally, and can be searched and selected. Each block is a single line. The standard fonts only cover Western European characters, so emoji and other scripts cannot be added.

The page preview is drawn by pdf.js, whose helper script loads from a public CDN, while your file stays in the browser. For a repeated mark on every page, PDF Watermark is faster. To stop later edits, you can add a password with PDF Protect.
