Pages are copied into a new document in the order of the file list, so moving a file up or down changes where its pages land.

  1. Click the upload area or drag and drop two or more PDF files onto it.
  2. Reorder the files with the up and down arrow buttons on each file card, from top to bottom.
  3. Remove any files you added by mistake using the remove button on each card.
  4. Click the Merge button (for example "Merge 3 PDFs") to combine all files into a single document in the order shown.
  5. Download the merged PDF file when processing completes.

How to Combine PDF Files Into One

PDF Merge joins two or more PDF files into one document, in the order you choose. Add the files, move them up or down with the arrow buttons, and click Merge. The result downloads as merged.pdf.

People use it to put a report together from separate chapters, send a job application as one file, or file a month of invoices in one place. Each file card shows its page count, and the summary after merging lists the total pages and the output size. Every file can be up to 50 MB.

The tool copies each page as it is. Text, images, fonts and page sizes do not change, and nothing is re-compressed, so quality stays the same. Web links on the pages usually keep working. Some document-level features are lost, though. Bookmarks (the outline in the sidebar of your PDF viewer) are not carried over, and interactive form fields may stop working. If you need those, merge with a desktop PDF editor instead.

Everything happens in your browser with the pdf-lib library, so your files are never uploaded. A file that needs a password to open must be unlocked first with PDF Unlock. Once the pages are together, you can fix their order with PDF Rearrange Pages or shrink the file with PDF Compress.

Use the up and down arrow buttons on each file card. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom, so the first card becomes the first pages. To reorder individual pages rather than whole files, merge first and then use PDF Rearrange Pages on the result.
Bookmarks are not kept, because only the pages are copied into the new file, not the document outline. Web links placed on the pages usually still work. Interactive form fields may lose their function. Page content, fonts and images are copied exactly, so the pages look the same as before.
It depends on the type of protection. A file that needs a password to open must be unlocked first with PDF Unlock, and the tool tells you which file is locked. A file that only restricts printing or copying is accepted as it is, but the merged PDF will not carry those restrictions.
There is no fixed limit on the number of files, but each one can be up to 50 MB. The merge runs in your device memory, so dozens of large files can be slow, especially on a phone. For everyday documents, merging 10 or 20 files works well.
